According to the World Tourism Organization, Mexico is one of the most visited countries in the world.  It is no surprise, then, that the country relies heavily on tourism for its income. Los Cabos is the number one vacation spot for couples, families and friends looking to get away in a fascinating, paradise-like environment.

Although Hurricane Odile certainly rattled the popular tourist destination, it has been on a speedy road to recovery.  Telephone, Internet and potable water and electricity have been fully restored.

Mexico Tourism Board CEO Rodolfo Lopez-Negrete suggested that the federal government has made the resort town’s recovery a high priority, evidenced by President Enrique Pena-Nieto’s multiple visits. Secretary of Tourism Claudia Ruiz Massieu has also moved her base of operations to Cabo San Lucas.

Lopez-Negrete said that an advertising campaign around the theme “Los Cabos – Unstoppable” is in its planning stages, and is set to kick off on October 15th.  The campaign expresses the resort town’s eagerness to return to normal operation.  The tourism board wants to send the message: “We are so confident of Los Cabos’ readiness that we will guarantee a pre-booked vacation.”

As a part of the campaign, a website will be launched, containing pertinent information and links to hotel websites.  Lopez-Negrete suggests that hotels will keep their websites up-to-date with recovery developments to help the tourism effort.

In a surprisingly short period of time, life in Cabo San Lucas is beginning to get back to normal.  There is no doubt that as the holiday season approaches, the tourist town will be ready, if not already, to open its doors for regular business.

Pristine beaches, intimate restaurants, funky bars and boutiques all contribute to the town’s charm and appeal.  In light of the recent hurricane, there are even more reasons to visit Los Cabos this holiday.

Airlines and resorts are offering some great vacation offers This month.  According to the Secretary of Tourism, every hotel in the area will be open for business by mid-November.  Some hotels never closed, and many more are opening in the weeks ahead.

As usual, prices will vary by resort.  Vacationers will be able to find 4.5 star all-inclusive resort packages, including round trip airfare, for less than $500 per couple per day.  3.5 star all-inclusive hotel packages may be as low as $350 per couple per day.

Multiple airlines and Alaska Airlines in particular are offering round-trip non-stop airfare deals for less than $500 per person up and down the West Coast.  Adding in a stop may result in fares that drop below $400.

The Cabo cruise ship terminal and marina area are undamaged.  Cruise lines are reviewing their schedules in preparation for the upcoming season.

These deals will save tourists thousands of dollars, giving them the opportunity to do more during their stay.  At the same time, tourists will be directly supporting the town’s recovery.

No matter what vacationers are looking to do, from sport fishing to surfing or simply relaxing on the beach, it is obvious that Los Cabos is ready for the holiday season.
